HabitSet - Request Data/Account Deletion
If you would like to delete your HabitSet account and associated data, please read the options below.
Your Data in HabitSet
HabitSet is designed with a privacy-first philosophy. Your habits, completions, story cards, notes, moods, and analytics are stored locally on your device. Your account information (email, name) is stored in Firebase Authentication. If you enabled Cloud Sync, your habit data is stored in Cloud Firestore. If you enabled Google Drive backup, encrypted backup files are stored in your personal Google Drive.
Option A: Delete Account via App (Recommended)
To delete your HabitSet account and all associated data:
- Open the HabitSet app
- Go to Settings > Account
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm when prompted
This will delete:
- Your account from our authentication system (email, name, photo URL)
- Your subscription data from our servers
- All cloud-synced data from Firestore (after 30-day grace period)
Data that remains under your control:
- Local data - Clear by uninstalling the App or clearing app data in device Settings
- Google Drive backups - Delete from your Google Drive if you enabled backup
Option B: Delete Local Data Only
To delete only the data stored on your device (without affecting your account):
- Open your phone Settings
- Go to Apps > HabitSet
- Tap Storage > Clear data / Clear storage
Note: This will not delete your account from Firebase Authentication. To fully delete your account, use Option A or submit a deletion request below.
Deletion is permanent
Once deleted (after the 30-day grace period), your account cannot be recovered. All your habits, story cards, completions, notes, moods, analytics, and progress will be permanently lost. Please export any data you need before deletion.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. If you have an active HabitSet Premium subscription, cancel it through Google Play Subscriptions.
Option C: Request Deletion via Form
If you cannot access the App or need assistance with deletion, submit the form below. We will process your request within 30 days (often much sooner).
What Happens After Deletion?
- Your account will be deactivated immediately
- A 30-day grace period applies - you can recover your account by signing in
- After 30 days, all cloud data is permanently deleted from our servers
- Any active subscription will need to be cancelled separately via Google Play
- Local data remains on your device until you uninstall or clear data
- Google Drive backups remain in your Drive until you delete them
- You will receive a confirmation email
