About Us: FeelNote is developed and operated by a solo developer as part of Blue Sparrow Dev. We are committed to building privacy-focused apps that respect your data.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using FeelNote, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
Journal Entries and Mood Data (Local Storage)
- Journal text, mood logs, activity tags, and photos you create are stored locally on your device by default.
- We do not have access to this data unless you explicitly enable cloud backup/sync features.
Account Information (Optional)
- If you choose to sign in with Google for cloud backup or premium features, we collect:
- Google account email address
- Google account user ID (unique identifier)
- Display name and profile picture (if provided by Google)
- This information is used solely for authentication, subscription management, and optional Google Drive backups.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device and Usage Information
- We may collect limited technical information to ensure the App functions properly:
- Device type, operating system version, and App version
- Crash logs and error reports (anonymized, no personal journal content)
- App usage statistics (e.g., features used, session duration) only if you opt in to analytics
Note: We do not use third-party analytics or tracking services by default. Any analytics collection is strictly opt-in, anonymized, and never includes your journal content or identifiable personal information.
1.3 Information Stored in the Cloud (Optional)
Google Drive Backup
- If you enable the optional Google Drive backup (requires signing in with your Google account):
- Your journal entries, mood logs, and associated metadata are encrypted locally and uploaded to a private application folder inside your personal Google Drive.
- The App can only access the backup files it creates, and only while you are signed in.
- Backups exist solely to let you restore your data on another device or after reinstalling the App.
Subscription Information
- When you purchase a premium subscription, Google Play or the Apple App Store processes payment details.
- We receive only the information needed to verify your subscription status (e.g., purchase token, subscription ID). We do not store your payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 Core Functionality
- To provide, maintain, and improve the App's journaling and mood tracking features.
- To enable local storage and retrieval of your journal entries and mood logs.
- To compute mood analytics, trends, and insights entirely on your device.
2.2 Authentication and Account Management
- To authenticate your identity via Google sign-in.
- To manage your subscription status and unlock premium features.
- To enable cloud backup/sync if you choose to use it.
2.3 Customer Support
- To respond to your inquiries, requests, or feedback sent via email.
- To troubleshoot technical issues and resolve bugs (using anonymized crash logs).
2.4 Compliance and Legal Obligations
- To comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes.
- To enforce our Terms of Use and protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the App.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
3.1 Service Providers
- Google Drive API: If you enable Google Drive backup, we use Google's APIs solely to save and retrieve encrypted backup files created by the App.
- Google Play / Apple App Store: Subscription billing and in-app purchases are managed by these platforms. They process payment information according to their own privacy policies; we only receive confirmation data (e.g., purchase tokens).
3.2 Legal Obligations
We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests (e.g., subpoenas, court orders) or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Blue Sparrow Dev or others.
3.3 Business Transfers
If we are acquired by or merge with another company, or if we sell or transfer business assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you of any such change and any choices you may have.
3.4 With Your Consent
We may share your information with third parties if you give us explicit consent to do so (e.g., if you authorize an integration with another service).
4. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard measures to protect it:
4.1 Local Data Protection
- Journal entries and mood logs stored on your device are protected by your device's operating system security.
- You can enable an additional layer of security by setting a PIN or biometric lock within the App.
4.2 Cloud Data Protection
- Backups uploaded to Google Drive are encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and stored within a private application folder.
- Cloud backups can be further encrypted with a user-defined password (optional).
- Google Drive's permission model ensures no one else can access the backup files without your Google credentials.
4.3 Security Limitations
While we use reasonable security measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and Google account credentials.
4.4 Android Reminder Permissions
- To deliver scheduled reminders on Android 13 and newer, FeelNote must request the system
POST_NOTIFICATIONSpermission as well as theSCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARMcapability. - These permissions are used solely to display the reminders you configure; no reminder content is transmitted to our servers.
- If you deny either permission, reminders remain disabled until you allow both inside Android Settings. You can change your decision at any time without affecting the rest of the app.
5. Data Retention
5.1 Local Data
- Data stored locally on your device remains until you delete it manually or uninstall the App.
5.2 Cloud Data
- If you enable Google Drive backups, encrypted files remain in your Google Drive account until you delete them.

- When you request account deletion, we revoke the App's access and guide you through deleting any remaining backups.
