Decaf – Request Data/Account Deletion
If you would like to delete data associated with Decaf, please read the options below. Decaf is designed to be local-first, so most data lives only on your device unless you enable optional cloud backup.
Most data is on your device
By default, Decaf stores your check-ins, symptom logs, notes, streaks, and preferences locally on your device. We cannot access this local data.
Option A: Delete Local Data (Recommended)
To delete Decaf data stored on your device:
- Open your phone Settings
- Go to Apps → Decaf
- Tap Storage → Clear data / Clear storage
- Optionally uninstall the App
Option B: Remove Cloud Backup (If Enabled)
If you enabled Google Drive backup, your encrypted backup is stored in your personal Google Drive App Data. To remove it:
- Disable cloud backup inside the App (Settings → Backup), if available
- Revoke Decaf's Google Drive access from your Google account settings
- Delete Decaf backup data from Google Drive App Data (if visible) / through in-app delete option
This may be permanent
Once deleted, your local data and any cloud backups cannot be recovered.
Request Deletion (Server-Side Records)
If you used the optional Google Sign-In feature or have contacted us by email, you can request deletion of server-side records (such as Firebase user/profile data, push notification tokens, subscription status fields, and identifiable support emails/records). Submit the request below. We will process requests within 30 days (often much sooner).
